The Department of Culture of the Municipality of Mira presents the series Conferences in Villa, the villas produce culture, a cycle of open and free meetings dedicated to the historical, artistic, and literary heritage of the territory.

The initiative takes place in the spaces of Villa Contarini known as dei Leoni and offers the public the opportunity to listen to and interact with eminent scholars.

Over the years, the series has taken the form of a cycle of lectures on themes related to the regional and national cultural sphere, enhancing the richness of the territory and its historical connections.

Among the speakers of this edition are Sonia Giacomello, Amerigo Restucci, Vanni Tiozzo, and Claudio Benvestito, each invited to address their own thematic meeting.

The Brenta and the system of Venetian Villas constitute a unique historical and architectural phenomenon on a global level. The conference will analyze the birth and development of this extraordinary "villa civilization," focusing not only on the artistic value of individual monumental complexes but especially on the structural harmony of the Veneto landscape. A critical analysis of how historical architecture has been able to interact with the river environment over the centuries, redefining the identity of the territory.

The initiative is promoted by the Municipality of Mira in collaboration with Mir Arti A.P.S.

Here is the program of the series:
