VENICE NAVAL HISTORY MUSEUM
MUNAV – Venice Naval History Museum is located just a 5-minute walk from St. Mark's Square and adjacent to the ancient "Arsenale".
Owned by the Italian Navy, MUNAV is Italy's most important naval museum, with 6,000 m² of exhibition space that will allow you to immerse yourself in Venice's glorious maritime history.
The building, dating back to the 15th century and once the “Granaio” (granary) of the Serenissima, is located near the Arsenale. Through a 5-floor itinerary, you can relive the long and fascinating naval history of Venice and the Italian Navy.

SHIP PAVILION
Don't miss the Ship Pavilion, now fully open to visitors.
This 3,000 m² space houses extraordinary relics from naval history: from typical lagoon boats (gondolas, fishing boats, work boats) to warships, to the engine of Guglielmo Marconi's motor ship Elettra and the magnificent hull of the Scalè Reale.
The pavilion stands in the former workshop of the Arsenale's remèri, where the oars of Venetian galleys were made for centuries.

ENRICO DANDOLO SUBMARINE
Measuring 46 metres long and almost 5 metres wide, the Enrico Dandolo submarine is one of the first four submarines designed during the Cold War. Silent, manoeuvrable and fast, these submarines were equipped with advanced technologies that, fortunately, were never used for offensive purposes.

AUDIO GUIDE INCLUDED
(it - en - fr - de - es) ![]()
The admission ticket includes an audio guide that will allow you to travel back in time and discover centuries of history, from the grandeur of the Venetian Republic to the evolution of the Italian Navy. Fifty-eight characters come to life to narrate the stories contained in the museum, through the voices of sailors, arsenal workers, privateers, rowers-galley slaves, commanders, adventurers, doges, sovereigns and ladies.
