Monumental Rooms of the Biblioteca Nazionale Marciana
The State Rooms of the Biblioteca Nazionale Marciana are situated in the Library overlooking St. Mark's Square. They are open to the public as part of the joint tour of the Museums of St. Mark's Square; access is via the National Archaeological Museum. The large main Hall of the Library is richly decorated with important sixteenth-century paintings, whilst the Vestibule or Antechamber once housed the Venetian Republic’s collection of classical statuary; two walls of this Statuario have recently been restored to their former appearance, with all the works of sculpture that originally stood there.
